Has anyone had their prom dress altered before?
I’m in a bit of a dilemma with my prom dress. I bought this beautiful gown that fits well around the waist, but the length is way too long, and the straps keep slipping off my shoulders. I’m worried about stepping on the hem and tripping, especially since I plan to dance a lot! Has anyone had their prom dress altered before? What kind of adjustments did you need, and how long did it take? I want to make sure I don’t leave it too late. Any advice would be really appreciated!

This is such a helpful discussion! I didn’t even think about bringing my prom shoes when getting alterations done, but that makes so much sense. I’ve also heard that some dresses have a built-in train that can be adjusted so it’s easier to walk in without tripping.
