The Ring on the Sea Bottom - A Fairy Tale by Desanka Maksimovic

Desanka Maksimovic was a famous Serbian poet and writer who wrote many fairy tales for children. One of her most popular fairy tales is "The Ring on the Sea Bottom" (Prsten na morskom dnu), which tells the story of a girl who lost her golden ring in the sea and how she got it back with the help of some friendly sea creatures.

The story begins with a girl playing on the seashore, who wanted to scoop some water in her hands. As she did so, a naughty wave took off her ring and carried it into the depths of the sea. The girl was very sad and cried for her lost ring, which was a gift from her mother.

Meanwhile, in the sea, a fish found the ring and took it to his home. He showed it to his wife and children, who admired its shine and beauty. The fish decided to keep the ring as a treasure and hid it under a rock. However, he did not know that a crab saw him hiding the ring and became curious about it.

The crab waited until the fish family was asleep and then sneaked into their home. He found the ring under the rock and took it for himself. He thought that the ring would make him look more handsome and elegant. He put it on his claw and went out to show off to his friends.

As he walked along the sea bottom, he met a starfish who noticed his ring. The starfish asked him where he got it from and if he could borrow it for a while. The crab agreed, thinking that he could get it back later. He gave the ring to the starfish and continued his walk.

The starfish was very happy with the ring and decided to keep it for himself. He thought that the ring would make him look more bright and sparkling. He put it on one of his arms and went out to show off to his friends.

As he swam along the sea bottom, he met an octopus who noticed his ring. The octopus asked him where he got it from and if he could borrow it for a while. The starfish agreed, thinking that he could get it back later. He gave the ring to the octopus and continued his swim.

The octopus was very pleased with the ring and decided to keep it for himself. He thought that the ring would make him look more powerful and majestic. He put it on one of his tentacles and went out to show off to his friends.

As he glided along the sea bottom, he met a dolphin who noticed his ring. The dolphin asked him where he got it from and if he could borrow it for a while. The octopus agreed, thinking that he could get it back later. He gave the ring to the dolphin and continued his glide.

The dolphin was very delighted with the ring and decided to keep it for himself. He thought that the ring would make him look more graceful and charming. He put it on his fin and went out to show off to his friends.

As he jumped along the sea surface, he met a seagull who noticed his ring. The seagull asked him where he got it from and if he could borrow it for a while. The dolphin agreed, thinking that he could get it back later. He gave the ring to the seagull and continued his jump.

The seagull was very ecstatic with the ring and decided to keep it for himself. He thought that the ring would make him look more free and adventurous. He put it on his beak and went out to show off to his friends.

As he flew along the sky, he saw a girl crying on the shore. He recognized her as the owner of the ring and felt sorry for her. He decided to return the ring to her and make her happy again. He flew down to her and dropped the ring in her hand.

The girl was very surprised and overjoyed to see her ring again. She thanked the seagull for bringing it back to her and hugged him gently. She put the ring on her finger and smiled brightly.

The seagull felt happy too, 248dff8e21
