How does wood flooring work with staircases?
We’re finalizing materials for our home and already settled on wood flooring throughout. But now we’re debating what to do with the staircase — should it match the flooring exactly? I found a company that does stair cladding using the same planks and nosing, which looks really seamless. Has anyone tried something like this? Here’s the link: wood flooring shop in Edinburgh. Would love to hear how it worked for others.

Matching stairs to floorboards definitely adds cohesion, especially in open-plan layouts. It’s one of those things people don’t always notice immediately, but subconsciously it makes the whole space feel more connected. From a design perspective, using the same wood can simplify visual transitions and make a space look more balanced — especially when done with precision.
